Armonte Donovan Death, Obituary – Durham, North Carolina is reeling after two separate fatal crashes on Monday night claimed the lives of two individuals, including 20-year-old Henry Winch and 39-year-old Armonte Donovan Self. In the second and more widely reported incident, Henry Winch of Durham was killed in a crash involving a 2026 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle and a GoTriangle bus near the intersection of N.C. 751 (Coach K Highway) and Erwin Road, just west of Duke University. According to police, the motorcycle collided with the right side of the bus as it was making a left turn off the highway onto Erwin Road.

Authorities stated that Winch was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators from the Durham Police Department are continuing to review evidence to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision.

Just over an hour earlier, a separate fatal crash occurred on North Miami Boulevard near Braxton Street in East Durham, where Armonte Donovan Self was struck by a vehicle while in the roadway. He also died at the scene. Police have stated that multiple investigators are working both cases and are asking for any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward.
