He completed the Northeast Ohio Carpenters apprenticeship program, where he excelled and developed a reputation as a talented and dedicated craftsman. Over the years, he became a respected member of the union carpentry community, spending decades working for CJI Construction and earning admiration from coworkers for his professionalism, work ethic, and expertise.
Beyond his career, Mike possessed a remarkable creative spirit. He was an artist at heart, finding joy in self-expression through music and performance. One of his greatest passions was singing and performing with his band, Last Second Decision. As both singer and guitarist, he shared countless memorable moments alongside bandmates and close friends Matt Lyons, John Butler, and the late Andy Berg. Music provided an outlet for his creativity and allowed him to connect with others through shared experiences and unforgettable performances.
Mike also had a deep love for motorcycle riding, a passion he often enjoyed with his children and dear friend Jamie Gruber.
